Two cases of boys, 12 yr and 14 yr old, with cancer of the lower rectum are presented. In one of them, the 12 yr old, only colostomy was performed. He was alive 20 mth after the histologic diagnosis and 3 yr after the appearance of the first clinical signs. He died in a cachectic state. The cancer probably stemmed from the long standing malignant degeneration of the polyp. The 14 year old boy died in uremia 10 mth after the diagnosis and 13 mth after the manifestation of the disease. He had been treated by radical surgery.
