COVID-19-associated pulmonary aspergillosis (CAPA) is difficult to diagnose and can be associated with increased mortality especially in severe immunodeficiency such as hematological malignancies. Our study evaluates IPA in COVID-19 patients defined as COVID-19-CAPA among patients with acute leukemia (AL). A retrospective single-center study analyzed 46 patients with COVID-19 infection and acute leukemia, admitted to the Clinic for Haematology, Clinical Center of Serbia, Belgrade between the 2 April 2020 and 15 May 2021. During hospitalization, all participants were diagnosed with probable IPA according to the previous consensus definitions. Positive serology and galactomannan (GM) detection values in bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) and serum were used as microbiological criteria. COVID-19 associated probable IPA was found in 22% (9/41) tested patients, where serum GM and IgM anti-Aspergillus antibodies were positive in 12% (5/41) and 10% (4/41) had positive serology for aspergillosis. One patient died while eight recovered during follow-up. Our study showed that COVID-19 might be a risk factor for IPA development in patients with AL. Early diagnosis and prompt treatment are required as reported mortality rates are high. © 2021 by the authors. Due to variable and nonspecific imaging findings, diagnosis of IMT is not obtained before surgery. The aim of this paper is to present CT and MRI findings during four-year follow-up of complete, spontaneous regression of IMT of the uterus. The diagnosis was made by histology and immunohistochemistry analysis of the open excisional biopsy specimen. At that time, the organ of origin was not specified. After analysis of the follow-up imaging findings and the mode of tumor regression, the uterus was proclaimed as the probable site of origin. IMT of the uterus is extremely rare and has been reported in ten cases up to now. We herein report the case of a 47-year-old woman who presented with abdominal carcinomatosis as a frst sign of invasive lobular breast carcinoma (ILC). Identifying the most important immunohistochemical markers for ILC: gross cystic disease fuid protein 15, estrogen and progesterone receptors enabled a correct diagnosis. After a six year disease-free period, relapse occurred with severe obstruction due to rectal metastasis from lob-ular breast carcinoma. Methods: This is a prospective cohort study that was carried out in the period from 2019 to 2022. The study included 79 patients who underwent CT examination, texture analysis, surgical resection of a lesion that was suspicious for GIST as well as pathohistological and immunohistochemical analysis. Results: Textural analysis pointed out min norm (p = 0.032) as a histogram parameter that significantly differed between HR and LR GISTs, while min norm (p = 0.007), skewness (p = 0.035) and kurtosis (p = 0.003) showed significant differences between high-grade and low-grade tumors. Univariate regression analysis identified tumor diameter, margin appearance, growth pattern, lesion shape, structure, mucosal continuity, enlarged peri- and intra-tumoral feeding or draining vessel (EFDV) and max norm as significant predictive factors for HR GISTs. Interrupted mucosa (p < 0.001) and presence of EFDV (p < 0.001) were obtained by multivariate regression analysis as independent predictive factors of high-risk GISTs with an AUC of 0.878 (CI: 0.797–0.959), sensitivity of 94%, specificity of 77% and accuracy of 88%. Conclusion: This result shows that morphological CT features of GIST are of great importance in the prediction of non-invasive preoperative metastatic risk. The higher frequency of this complication is in the necrotic form of pancreatic inflammation, especially in patients with formed peripancreatic necrotic collections. The degradation of the arterial wall leads to bleeding and transforms these necrotic collections into a pseudoaneurysm. Urgent endovascular angioembolization is the first choice in the therapeutic approach as a valid minimally invasive solution with very satisfactory immediate and long-term outcomes. This successfully avoids open surgery, which is associated with a high mortality rate in these patients, especially in acute-on-chronic pancreatitis. © 2024 by the authors.
