Publication Follow-up imaging of inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor of the uterus and its spontaneous regression(2015) ;Markovic Vasiljkovic, Biljana (23473808600) ;Plesinac Karapandzic, Vesna (23474669800) ;Pejcic, Tomislav (22954461400) ;Stefanovic, Aleksandra Djuric (59026442300) ;Milosevic, Zorica (15520088500)Plesinac, Snezana (55920049900)Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is an aggressive benign mass that may arise from various tissues and organs with a great variability of histological and clinical appearances. Due to variable and nonspecific imaging findings, diagnosis of IMT is not obtained before surgery. The aim of this paper is to present CT and MRI findings during four-year follow-up of complete, spontaneous regression of IMT of the uterus. The diagnosis was made by histology and immunohistochemistry analysis of the open excisional biopsy specimen. At that time, the organ of origin was not specified. After analysis of the follow-up imaging findings and the mode of tumor regression, the uterus was proclaimed as the probable site of origin. IMT of the uterus is extremely rare and has been reported in ten cases up to now. The gradual, complete regression of uterine IMT documented by CT and MRI may contribute to understanding of its nature. © 2016, Tehran University of Medical Sciences and Iranian Society of Radiology. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Resolving erythrocytosis and hypertension after open surgical extirpation of giant renal cyst measuring 30 cm: Case report(2011) ;Pejcic, Tomislav (22954461400) ;Hadzi-Djokic, Jovan (6603561960) ;Markovic, Biljana (23473808600)Naumovic, Radomir (55965061800)The case of giant renal cyst measuring 30 cm, accompanied by abdominal swelling and erythrocytosis, is presented. A 45-year-old male presented with large abdominal mass, atrophic left kidney, hypertension, and erythrocytosis. The patient underwent multiple preoperative phlebotomies, open extirpation of the cyst, and nephrectomy. After the surgery, erythrocytosis ceased completely, blood pressure became normal without any medications whereas function of the remaining kidney was stable. The giant renal cysts measuring more than 15 cm are extremely rare. However, they can cause erythrocytosis and hypertension very frequently, especially in the case of cysts originating from the proximal tubule. To our knowledge, this is the largest renal cyst published in the literature that caused the above-mentioned complications. © 2011 Informa Healthcare USA, Inc. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication The assessment of knowledge and attitudes of men in serbia about prostate cancer and possibilities for its early detection and treatment in 2011: A cross-sectional study(2019) ;Petrovic, Jelena (57207943674) ;Acimovic, Miodrag (6508256624) ;Jovicevic, Ana (6504029125) ;Rafailovic, Dragutin (56016907300) ;Petrovic, Ivana (35563660900) ;Dzamic, Zoran (6506981365) ;Pejcic, Tomislav (22954461400)Hadzi-Djokic, Jovan (6603561960)Purpose: To assess the knowledge and attitudes of men in Serbia about prostate cancer (PCA) and possibilities for its early detection and treatment in 2011. Methods: This cross-sectional study included 407 men of various ages and education levels selected randomly and divided in 2 groups according to age (up to 40 and over 40 years). The assessment of knowledge and attitudes was based on a survey made up of 12 multiple choice questions conducted with direct contact with respondents from October 15th to December 15th 2011 with their voluntary consent. The results were evaluated in the total sample and between the groups. Results: Patient groups significantly differed according to knowledge about PCA treatment success (p<0.001) and stage in which PCA is most frequently detected (p<0.001) as well as according to attitudes about community-based interventions for increasing the awareness of PCA (p<0.001). Sixty-one percent of respondents over 50 years hadn't done preventive prostate examination despite recommendations. Ninety percent of all respondents believed the community-based intervention should have been implemented in Serbia to increase the men's awareness of PCA. Conclusion: The study reported lack of men's knowledge about PCA in Serbia in 2011, while there was a common agreement among men on the necessity of spreading more information about this disease. © 2019 Zerbinis Publications.
