Immature teratomas of the ovary represent less than 1% of all ovarian teratomas. They contain several tissues that derive from the three embryologic layers: ectoderm, mesoderm, and endoderm. We report the case of a 17-year-old girl who presented with an immature teratoma of the left ovary that recurred 3 months later as an inoperable malignant neuroepithelial peritoneal tumor resembling a glioblastoma. She died 3 weeks after the second explorative operation. The very aggressive course and fast lethal outcome could be explained by the patient's refusal to receive chemotherapy after the initial operation. © 2005 IGCS.

Purpose: The purpose of this report was to confirm that endometriosis, although a benign gynecological disease, in some patients, can give rise to ovarian cancers. Case Report: The authors report a case of clear cell carcinoma in a patient suffering of endometriosis. The patient, a 38-year old nullipara, had a history of bilateral ovarian cysts diagnosed on routine check-up by ultrasound scan four years ago. After admission to hospital, due to cramping lower abdominal pain, MRI showed tumorous mass, with solid and cystic components, located between abdominal wall, lateral pelvic walls, and lumbosacral part of spine belonging to ovaries. The patient underwent appropriate extensive surgery. Histopathological investigation revealed ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma Stage IIIa, along with endometriotic cyst found on the contralateral side. Conclusion: This report confirms the strong link between endometriosis and ovarian cancer and sends an appeal for urgent and precise definition of parameters relevant for determination of patients’ groups with the risk for malignancy. © 2019 S.O.G. Granulosa cell tumors are sex-cord stromal tumors, and since their incidence is very low, it is difficult to design treatment and evaluate its efficacy. In these cases it is very difficult and challenging to give any advice regarding future pregnancies. In the present case, since treatment of granulosa cell tumor was affected by decision to have another pregnancy, one is inevitably concerned whether the pregnancy and hormonal status regarding pregnancy could change prognostic factors regarding the tumor itself. After the pregnancy the patient declined hysterectomy and her reasons were mainly that she felt safe because the second look during cesarean section showed no evidence of the disease. There are no sufficient data in the literature regarding planned pregnancies during the course of follow up for granulosa cell tumors.
