Publication Atypical, polyarticular lipoma arborescens in a child(2016) ;Semnic, Robert (6701842753) ;Simić, Radoje (16744648200) ;Djuričić, Slaviša (6603108728) ;Adjić, Oto (23471938200)Vanhoenacker, Filip (7006593310)Introduction Lipoma arborescens is a rare, tumor-like lesion commonly involving synovial joints and less commonly bursae and synovial tendon sheaths. Case Outline We report a case of a 12-year-old boy with symmetric involvement of the bicipitoradial bursae, synovial sheaths of extensor compartments of both hands and medial ankles. The diagnosis of polyarticular lipoma arborescens was proposed on magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and this diagnosis was histologically proven after biopsy of the bursae and later by open surgery of the synovial sheath of the right ankle tendons. Literature search was performed and twelve cases with polyarticular involvement were analyzed. Lipoma arborescens commonly involves suprapatellar recess of the knee and very rarely other joints or bursae. Histological analysis revealed an accompanying non-necrotizing granulomatous synovial inflammation. Conclusion Polyarticular lipoma arborescens is a rare entity and symmetrical involvement of the joints other than the knees is exceedingly rare. MR imaging plays a significant role in the diagnostic protocol, and the characteristic fatty signal on MR imaging is highly suggestive of lipoma arborescens. ©2016, Serbia Medical Society. Publication Neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in pediatric acute appendicitis; [Neutrofilno-limfocitni odnos u akutnom apendicitisu kod dece](2018) ;Stanković, Nikola (57192998596) ;Stanojević, Ivan (55798544900) ;Djordjević, Dragan (7006039370) ;Kostić, Zoran (57207510598) ;Udovičić, Ivo (55915689400) ;Miličković, Maja (56532077000) ;Savić, Djordje (15078056700) ;Grujić, Blagoje (12772307200) ;Djuričić, Slaviša (6603108728)Šurbatović, Maja (9232887700)Background/Aim. Acute appendicitis (AA) is the most frequent emergency and appendectomy is the most frequent abdominal operation in the pediatric surgery. Diagnosis of AA in children is more difficult due to a lack of cooperation and poor clinical history data, leading to significant number of misdiagnostic cases. Our aim was to explore whether neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) may be useful in diagnosis and follow-up of AA in children. Methods. Prospective investigation of NLR values in 129 consecutive patients admitted to the Mother and Child Healthcare Institute of Serbia and referred for surgery due to AA was performed. According to the pathohistological findings, patients were divided into 3 groups: normal/early, uncomplicated (phlegmonous) and complicated (gangrenous or/and perforated) AA. Laboratory analysis was done preoperativly and on the 1st and the 3rd postoperative days. Results. Statistically significant differences of NLR values were found in the different time points in total of patients and per groups. Some statistically significant differences of NLR values among histopathological groups were recorded. Investigations of correlation of NLR and other laboratory and clinical parameters showed strong positive correlation between NLR and C-reactive protein postoperatively and between NLR and Pediatric Appendicitis Score (PAS) preoperatively. Strong negative correlation with preoperative symptoms duration (PSD) were also present. Optimal cutoff NLR value between negative and positive appendectomies was 6.14. Conclusion. NLR provides well monitoring of progression of AA in children and, its cutoff values may help in distinguishing the phases of AA. Because of that, NLR should be used in diagnosis of AA in children. © 2018, Institut za Vojnomedicinske Naucne Informacije/Documentaciju. Publication Pd-l1 expression in different segments and histological types of ovarian cancer according to lymphocytic infiltrate(2021) ;Jovanović, Ljubiša (57372301200) ;Janković, Radmila (36875127400) ;Ćirković, Andja (56120460600) ;Jović, Milena (57915640500) ;Janjić, Tijana (56362345500) ;Djuričić, Slaviša (6603108728)Milenković, Svetlana (58376488100)Background and Objectives: Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death among gynecological tumors. PD-1/PD-L1 immunoregulatory mechanism is activated in ovarian cancers. Lymphocyte infiltration is a significant factor that affects its expression. We analyzed the correlation between localization of lymphocytic infiltrate and PD-L1 expression in epithelial ovarian tumors. Materials and Methods: PD-L1 expression was analyzed in 328 subjects, 122 with epithelial ovarian carcinoma, 42 with atypical proliferative tumor, and 164 with benign epithelial ovarian tumor. Expression in central and invasive tumor parts in epithelial ovarian carcinoma was combined with the most pronounced lymphocyte reaction. Immunohistochemical analysis was performed using the tissue microarray and correlated with a set of histopathology parameters. Results: PD-L1 expression was most prominent in epithelial ovarian carcinoma with different levels of expression observed between invasive and central tumor segments. A high level of PD-L1 expression on tumor cells was more frequently present in the invasive than in the central tumor parts (p < 0.001) only in high-grade serous ovarian carcinoma (HGSC). There was no significant correlation between peritumoral lymphocytic infiltrate and PD-L1 expression regardless of tumor segment. In the central tumor parts of HGSC, there was a correlation of intratumoral lymphocytic infiltrate with a higher level of PD-L1 expression (p = 0.003). Conclusions: The most prominent PD-L1 expression was observed in the invasive tumor parts of HGSC. Only the central parts of the HGSC exhibited significant PD-L1 expression in association with considerable intratumoral lymphocytic infiltrate. © 2021 by the authors. Publication Rapidly growing bilateral ovarian cystadenoma in a 6-year-old girl: Case report and literature review(2006) ;Stanković, Zoran B. (56921744400) ;Djukić, Milan K. (57208476700) ;Sedlecki, Katarina (24470515200) ;Djuričić, Slaviša (6603108728) ;Lukač, Branislav J. (12239018700)Mažibrada, Ilijana (12239600600)Background: Benign ovarian neoplasms originating from epithelial tissue are common tumors in adult women. However, they are rarely seen in the pediatric population, especially in the first decade of life. Case: We report a case of a 6-year-old, premenarchal girl, previously healthy, with frequent micturition lasting 3 days prior to the first examination, without discomfort or pain. Laboratory analyses of blood and urine showed no abnormalities. Repeated ultrasonographic examinations revealed bilateral, cystic, rapidly growing ovarian masses. Cysts were surgically removed, with preservation of normal ovarian tissue, and histopathologic findings showed a serous cystadenoma of both ovaries. © 2006 North American Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology Published by Elsevier Inc.
