Publication Endoluminal prosthesis in protecting high-risk colonic anastomosis: an experimental study(1991) ;Krivokapic, Z. (55503352000) ;Stevovic, D. (6602904231) ;Dugalic, D. (6603893799) ;Japundzic, I. (7003832566)Colovic, R. (56265624300)An experimental study was carried out to evaluate the protective role of an endoluminal prosthesis on high risk colo-colonic anastomoses. One hundred and fifty rats were divided into two groups: Group E with endoluminal latex prosthesis and Group C without. Bursting pressure and collagen concentration in the perianastomotic tissue were tested, respectively, on the 4th, 7th and 12th, and 4th, 7th, 12th, 18th and 38th post-operative days. Bursting pressure was significantly higher in Group E on the 4th postoperative day. There was no significant difference in the anastomotic collagen concentration between the two groups. The presence of the prosthesis did not produce any macroscopic or microscopic evidence of impaired healing or stricture at the suture line. Death due to anastomotic dehiscence occurred in 11/75 (15%) in Group C and in 1/75 (1.3%) in Group E (p<0.010). Endoluminal prosthesis appears to have a protective effect on anastomotic healing. The mechanism is probably due to mechanical protection and not to differences in collegen concentration. © 1991 Springer-Verlag. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication Some experimental aspects of using lungs as biological oxygenator in extracorporal circulation(1980) ;Stojanovic, V. (7006941812) ;Popovic, M. (56224617700)Colovic, R. (56265624300)Exposing problem of oxygenators in extracorporal circulation authors consider screan and membrane as the best, in spite of some disadvantages from which the haemolysis is the most cumbersome. In attempt to find the way of solution of this problem, authors have made a number of experiments in animals where they have conducted extracorporal circulation in such way that blood has been oxygenated in own lungs of an nimal. Two types of bypass were examinated as: right to right bypass (vv. cavae-pulmonal artery), right to right bypass as exposed with possibility of interconnection with classical extracorporal circulation, and finally bypass of the left and right heart. Exposing their experience and results authors consider that use of lungs as biological oxygenator in extracorporal circulation has its justification according to achieved results. In spite of some problems which need further elaboration such experiments are the motive for more work and reflexion in this type of problem. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Publication Use of endoscopy to diagnose symptomatic duodenal duplication cyst in an adult(1991) ;Bulajic, M. (7003421660) ;Savic-Perisic, M. (6507751246) ;Korneti, V. (6507929258) ;Colovic, R. (56265624300)Milicevic, M. (57510647400)The case of a female patient with a symptomatic duodenal duplication cyst diagnosed on endoscopy is reported. It is very important to discriminate between this rare anomaly and choledochocele as the treatment differs. Ultrasonography and ERCP are useful for the differential diagnosis. This rare anomaly is more often diagnosed in children. In adults duodenal duplication cysts may cause obstructive jaundice. The endoscopic finding of a cystic lesion in the medial wall of the second duodenal section at the papilla Vateri should be interpreted as a sign of the disease.
