There were 280 reported cases. The average annual incidence rate was 1.79/100,000 (95% confidence interval, 0.92-3.13). The rate was higher in girls than in boys. Eleven children died. The average annual mortality rate was 0.10/100,000 (95% confidence interval, 0.01-0.56).
